Ice cube fun!

There is so much fun to be had with items frozen in ice cubes. My two girls were beside themselves with amusement and occupied for hours. And I managed to get some gardening done too. And all you have to do is....

1. Search your house for small plastic objects and/or take your kids for a walk and collect pretty flowers, leaves, seeds, pods and other found objects.
2. Place them in ice cube and fill with water.
3. Freeze and play!

Have fun with this! Six thumbs up here!

Sticky twig art

I have enjoyed using the sticks from our front yard to make art with. And I especially have loved displaying them for the tree to see.

I think over the next few cooler months here in Australia I'd like to learn how to add colour to our trees with fabric wrapped around the trunk. Or maybe knitting them a cardigan to keep them warm. My brain is buzzing with ideas..... And if you have any ideas to share with me, come along to the next craft arvo and we can sitting around and drinks some warm tea.

Tea. Craft. Chat. Share.

Beaded necklace in pastel and neon

This is one of the pretty pieces of jewellery that came from our crafty arvo. I'm loven' the pastels with neon and made a variety of shaped beads to make this candy delight of a necklace. It is quite a simple DIY craft that can be made while snuggling with a blanket while watching your favourite movie. So no excuses. Get comfy and get craftin'.

Materials
polymer clay in colours that take your fancy
skewers
Oven tray with aluminium foil
Thin elastic

Instructions
1. Take a small portion of clay, and make a bead shape. I varied the size and shape each time
2. Piece with skewer to make a hole
3. Place all the clay beads in the over at the temperature/time outlined on the packet
4. Thread with elastic and wear with pride.
5. You are cool. Keep up the craftin'

"Lets play, yay!"

I believe one can never have too many garlands. They are pretty, colourful and so easy to make. Even when you have a lot of little fingers around you "helping". So think about all the fun words you say in your house and make a garland out of it. The instructions below will help you out.

Materials
Coloured pieces of felt
thin piece of material
printed letters
scissors
sewing machine or a patient hand sower

Instrutions
1. Print out the letters in a bold font
2. Place the print out in front of a piece of felt and cut out
3. Repeat for each letter in different felt colours
4. Sew the top of each letter to the thin piece of material
5. Hang and enjoy!

If you have a go of this, send me the pics and I can post them on my blog.

Twiggy art for craft arvo

I love twigs. They are a great resource to make art from that's free, organic, smooth and green! That's me in a nutshell! Well, maybe except the free part ;)

So come along to the next craft arvo and wrap twine and pretty fabric around a twig. Or if you have another twiggy ideas, bring them along too.

I will add some pics from last months craft arvo. We made some lovely polymer clay rings and necklaces.

Can't wait to "twig" with you! Oh and how is a lonely twig like a piece of cling wrap? He can only stick to himself.
